Pfeiffer publishes the impact of biodynamics

Biodynamic Farming and Gardening; Soil Fertility Renewal and Preservation‘ was published in 5 languages simultaneously. Fred Heckel undertook the English translation and it was published by the Anthroposophic Press in the USA. This was the ‘coming out’ of biodynamics after Dr Steiner’s recommendation that .. “The lectures should be considered first of all as hints, which for the present should not be spoken of outside this circle, but looked upon as the foundation for experiments and thus gradually brought into a form suitable for publication” [Report to members of the Anthroposophical Society after the Agriculture Course, Dornach, Switzerland, June 20, 1924].

“It was the culmination of a decade and a half of experimental agricultural work of the Experimental Circle of Anthroposophical Farmers in which the indications of Rudolf Steiner were put to the test and the results formalized.” John Paull 2011.

In the struggle between the AAF and the BDA this was a victory for the BDA who got the publishing rights the AAF thought it had secured. The BDA went on to print its own revised and updated UK edition (published by Faber and Faber) due to an issue between the US and the UK over the Geneva Convention!
