Homoeopathic remedy
Common Name
Charcoal

Trituration
General description
Charcoal is both in crude form and potencies, antiseptic and deodorant. The signs of decay and putrefaction are leading indications. Carbo. v. may also be much more than a rescuer of near death plants. The carbon acts deeply on respiratory and chlorophyll cells, but except a stunted or wilted look, does not exhibit noticeable symptoms elsewhere, save for capillary collapse
Effect on Plants -Named Issues
Slow recovery or dying plants after transplants. After severe mutilation through storm damage or mechanical injury. After rots. Decay, putrefaction, anthracnose. After loss of vital fluids. Nematodes (3) Colleotrichum gloeosporioides, nematode damage and nematode management, anthracnosis, damping off, Rhizoctonia, Pythium sp., Phytophthora spp., Thielaviopsis basicola, Sclerotium rolfsii, Macrophomina phaseoli, Botrytis, aphonomyces , Fusarium, Cylindrocladium. (244) Wilting (333) Stress from over watering (495) Leaf drop (496) Fungus (337) Blight (337) Canker (337) Black Spot (337) Tomato rot (496) Tomato blight (496) Brown spots (496) Blight (1527) Seedling development (1757) Rhizoctonia (1808) Velvetbean - Anticarsia gemmatalis (1816) General Weakness. After insect attack (1837) General Appearance
"Wasted and wilted. Has nearly lost all leaves (not to be regarded in fall in deciduous trees) looks weak, burnt from bushfires, or dying from lack or excess of water. Desperate flowering (as in Canth.) to reproduce before dying, yet too weak to produce fruit or seed. Fruits fall prematurely. Streaks of reddish brown on the leaves, veins stand out; when a twig or leaf is broken, plant loses too much sap. Carbo v. was used extensively in Western Australia after transplants of black boy trees and palms, with very good results especially on blackboy trees." (3) Foamy appearance, muddy, slimy, loss of red colouration. (244) I recently rescued a severely wilted tomato seedling. The stem had broken off in a gusty win. I misted it with a combo of calendula 6X and carbo veg 6X. Good as new a couple hours later, even with no roots at all (I potted it with rooting hormone). (333) I just wanted to say that our olive tree was 'dead' in April, and we about to throw it away - killed, we thought, by the cold winter. But because of something Kaviraj said regarding another enquiry, I gave it one dose of Carbo Veg. It took a little while, but the tree looks really healthy now. (334) Bamboo, outdoors, south-facing garden, biodynamic approach. Bamboo had brown leaves after flowering - it had collapsed (late summer 2008); was watered for 3 weeks almost daily with a solution of Carbo veg. in water; sprouted normally again in 2009. (496) Limp and weak (337) Plant is limp and weak (337) Observation showed that Carbo vegetabilis 30CH, 200CH and 1M showed signican't germination of soya bean seeds infected by pathogenic fungi Rhizoctonia solani. (1808) Stem/trunk and bark - capillary system
Leaves
Early fall of leaves, reddish-brown stripes on the leaves. Assists recovery from insect attack. (244) Here are the photos of a vine stressed from excess water over winter. Used Carbo Veg, noticeable greening up of leaves. First photo is taken on my mobile phone so not flash quality, but think you can notice the improvement. Observations prior to treatment Soil: good soil, prone to water logging/compaction Leaves:yellow and small Canes: not growing Plant health:stressed, prior great plant Probable causes: excess water Dosage:Carbo vege 10 drops in 500 ml water (495) Flowering cherry, outdoors, suddenly stopped growing - no leaves, early loss of leaves in spring 2010 and early summer 2010, heat wave, but sufficient watering. Recovered. (496) I've now been experimenting with a potted rose that threatened to die (summer). No obvious reason, but the leaves became yellow and dropped off, and the buds dried up. Twice I put down a pellet of Carbo vegetabilis and Arsenicum, both 30C, on the ground and watered over it. The leaves stopped falling and then new leaves appeared, and now there are even new buds! The effect of the homeopathic remedies strikes me as a miracle! (496) Yellowing with black spots (337) Monilia tip burn (337) Star-shaped spots on green leaves (337) Simply FANTASTIC, works really well ... a tomato plant that was almost about to die. Tomato blight had spread widely in the lower part of the plant, and the little leaves at the top already had small brown spots. At this point the tomatoes had not yet set fruit. I watered the tomatoes, which were growing in a plastic housing with one side open, on four consecutive days with Carbo veg. 30 C, (5 pellets in 1 litre of water, dissolved in a watering can). The plant then developed numerous fresh green leaves, and the leaves affected by blight fell off. It recovered completely, even becoming the best tomato plant in our garden. (496) ... water-filled brown spots on the underside of the fruits, and these spread from below to cover the tomatoes as they matured. This plant was treated for four consecutive days with Carbo veg. 30 C. For a long time it looked as if there was no improvement. But now, three weeks after applying the remedy, it has become clear that - although a few tomatoes still have brown spots below - they appear to have dried up and are no longer spreading to cover the entire tomato. The younger tomatoes are completely healthy. (496) yellow color spreading over the leaves on the lower branches of the tomato plants.... Happily I can report that spraying the remedy Carbo vegetabilis onto the tomatoes for three successive days apparently cured it. (1527) Bad shape after cold spell - corpse reviver! (1810) Defoliation (1837) Flowers
Fruit
Fall prematurely (3) Fruit drop prematurely, fruit absent. (244) Dear hard and leathery (337) For ... fruit end rot... :Fantastic!!! For eight years I have been lovingly growing tomato plants (old varieties), which grow superbly in expensive tomato compost and form fruits but then began to rot, until I'm forced to throw them in the bin, swearing never to grow tomatoes again. This year too the plants grew strongly and produced fruit, and the first three plants already had rotten tomatoes ... I immediately ordered the remedy. It arrived but I could only add two (instead of the recommended five) doses to the water because I was then away for ten days. ... I arrived home to find not a single brown tomato!. (496) Homoeopathic dilutions of Carbo Veg and Silicea are highly effective in improving the water retaining capacity of the plant and soil and also its healthy growth. (1819) Seed
Assists seeds sown in too compact soils (244) Notes and Academic Papers
Aggravation in the evening, by the time warm humidity or after fertilisation. Improvement in the wind. Increases resistance to frost and cold. It balances the deficiency of silica and is used for the management of fungal diseases, to mitigate the damage caused by fire, by sun exposure or the snow, or mechanical damage caused by a storm. (244) Sensitive to cold (337) Sensitive to cold (337) The increment of the dry mass of aerial part of seedlings and amount of young plants developed in the field 15 days after the transplant demonstrated that the 100CH dynamization was responsible for balance of seedlings produced in stress conditions. (1704) In the development of analysis it was observed that in almost all parameters evaluated the medicine Carbo vegetabillis 6CH, followed by Calcarea carbonica 12CH, Silicea terra 12CH, Phosphorus 12CH, Pulsatilla nigricans 12CH and the preparation of Acai 12CH contributed to a better performance of the seedlings. (1757) At the beginning and at the end of the 4th instar, caterpillars fed soybean leaves treated with homeopathic substances showed reduced body weight relative to the distilled water control (1816) Effect on Soil -Top soil
there was decrease of OE being ... Carbo vegetabilis 27,3% .. (1747) |
