planting dates 2008/2009

Post by Animol »

Hi, do you have recommended planting dates for 2008/9 for seeing a contrast as you have on the site for previous years? I am up for doing some serious experimenting as I have only been messing around up until now and have not even really convinced myself of much!
Thanks

How nice that someone is interested! I'll go do my ephemeris homework and post things up. I'll let you know when I have had time to do it. Cheers..

Hi Animol

I have put up some thing for later in the year. I'll get on to 2009 etc before too long. Do nudge me if there's nothing up by Christmas for next year.

No worries - so am I. The planting dates are the same for each hemisphere but the dates are put this way since it is more likely that planting is done in spring. As it is now autumn in the North I thought that these dates are more likely for the south.

What might you plant at this time?

beans

Post by Animol »

i was thinking of planting maybe some broad beans, normally i would soak them first until they sprout and then plant them out. Would you think that it would be the planting out to be done on the specified day?

Yes - it is where the seeds are put into their final growing medium.
