ABSTRACT: The aphid Brevicoryne brassicae is often causing damage to crops of
cabbage Brassica oleracea var. acephala. The objective of this study was to verify the
effect of the prepared isoteraphics in the repellency of B. brassicae (L.) on cabbage. The
tincture was obtained from the maceration of adult insects for twenty days. The
treatments were isoteraphics 3CH, 6CH, 9CH, 12CH, applied on cabbage leaves in the
proportion of 4%. The experiment was conducted in repellency leaf disk assay, under
double blind methodology. The prepared isoteraphics 6CH and 9CH showed repellent
effect on adults and nymphs in relation to the control in the time of 180 minutes. The
isotherapy presents as an important tool for future studies on the ecological management
of pests in vegetable crops.
