INFLUENCE OF Ocimum gratissimum AND Mentha piperita ON DEVELOPMENT OF LARVAE AND MOSQUITOES Culex SP

ABSTRACT: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of some homeopathic medicines on the biology of Culex sp. Ten to fifteen larvae of Culex sp. the same stage of development (Stage I) were treated with homeopathic streamlined (Ocimum gratissimum and Mentha piperita) in bottles containing 30 mL of water and fish food. In vials were added 200 μL each medication in different dynamizations (3, 6, 9, 12, 18, 24 and 30CH) and containers containing larvae covered by thin fabric type "toule" to prevent the dispersal of adult insects. The variables in the training period of adulthood were: average daily and larvae, pupae and insects that reached adulthood. It was observed that the medicament O. gratissimum and M. piperita was effective in interfering on the insect life-cycle. The drug O. gratissimum and M. piperita in growth solution insects increase the average number of larvae and mosquitoes.
