EVALUATION OF HOMEOPATHIC PREPARATIONS IN PURPLE NUTSEDGE (Cyperus rotundus L.)

ABSTRACT: Cyperus rotundus L., popularly known as nutsedge is a perennial. Is
multiplied by seeds and in particular vegetatively from underground rhizomes and
bulbs. Considered the most persistent species in the world, it is present in almost all
countries. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of homeopathic preparations
in purple nutsedge (Cyperus rotundus L.). The experiment was conducted in a
greenhouse, where it tested five homeopathic potencies of "TP", compared with water
as a control. The experimental design was completely randomized with six treatments
and four replications. The homeopathic preparations were applied twice a week, a
month being applied 100 ml of homeopathic preparations and water, respectively, in
each pot directly into the ground. The characteristics evaluated were: total number of
plants (NTP); length Aerial parts (CPA), Total number of tubers (NTTU) and number of
plants Spontaneous (PE). Data were subjected to analysis of variance. A comparison
was made of homeopathic preparations with the control by Dunnett (p <0.05). Variables
CPA, NTP, PE and CPA, were not affected by homeopathic preparations, when
compared with the control. Already in variable NTP there were statistically significant
differences, where treatments T4 and T5 showed a lower incidence compared to control
plants, demonstrating that homeopathic preparations may interfere with the proliferation
of weeds.
