CUTTING OF Ipomoea cairica (L.) SWEET PREPARED WITH HOMEOPATHIC Arnica montana

VB Braga; C Petry

ABSTRACT: Homeopathy seeks balance of the life force in living beings, and in
plants, it activates reactions involved in the production of enzymes related to defense
mechanisms. The homeopathic remedy Arnica montana is recommended for relief of
symptoms of various traumas. Use of this technique, recognized in organic production
and in agroecology, is still unknown in production of plantlets of the Brazilian
medicinal plant Ipomoea cairica. Therefore, the purpose of this research was to study
rooting of cuttings from the native medicinal species Ipomoea cairica (L.) Sweet using
Arnica montana in various dynamizations. Plant homeopathic treatments had a
significant effect on fresh and dry mass of the above ground part. A 92,9% rate of
rooted cuttings was obtained, and only as of 14 days were dead cuttings, senescent
leaves and new shoots observed. Arnica montana can contribute to the rooting of
morning glory with a view toward softening shock and traumas for cuttings.
