Hi Anand

I think there is a better monitoring site that was suggested by a colleague on another list:

http://oiswww.eumetsat.org/IPPS/html/MT ... /index.htm

Also it may be possible to get this to work over google earth

http://oiswww.eumetsat.org/IPPS/html/geImages.html

but I have to play with this a little more to see if we can get results.

The district level weather forcast for Rajkot from Dec 21st to 23 rd as per imd data is : precipitation =0.also the relative humidity is on th decline.
Such forcasts is ideal for the test.

The google & metostat site you suggested was not very clear.
Please suggest (it would be great you do the record keeping )ways so that subsequent replay of the whole episode is best represented.

Mohan bhai sends thanks to Mark for giving his time (& to Considera for providing a platform )for such a weird venture.

dear mark ji

There is a slight change in schedule ,Yesterday evening there were some clouds over the site, please refer the district data oca=5,The sattelite image also shows a patch of cloud . the local media people said that this will make people infer that the Rain making was a natural phenomena ,Area surrounding Rajkot District like Distt Junagarh had scanty rain fall.
Another date of 25 th Dec is now fixed.I told the Rain maker that such changes brings doubt because there are people watching over the net.

Please bear with us 25 th Dec will not be changed at any cost.

regards

Friends, the day has finally arrived,
tomorrow on the auspiscious day of Christmas
We will be a part of a very unique experiment
that may make us to reflect upon the abandoned stages of Development
Not as big as the Hedron Collider"experiment
But if succesful & refined, could be equally significant

My request is to frequently monitor the site , the finer details would be
relayed on this site by conversation with the Rain Maker.
the forcast for the test site for next 5 days is :
By Chance the Chief Minister of the State is due to visit the District on 27/12/2009.

the rain making device was started exactly at 6.00 am, its past 4-00 hours since then, yesterday night the sky was clear around the area. IMD is yet to publish its fore cast data as on date for the coming 5 days.

It would be benificial if Mark could also be viewing the test site from other sattelites which supposedly are real time viewing .the images displayed by indian met. deptt. are displayed at belated intervals & behind schedule .

Friends

Please refer to imd sattelite images taken at .030 am on 26 th dec.
there is patch of cloud forming over the arabian sea & moving towards gujrat. A pity that the Images displayed by indian met.deptt are behind schedule & not real time.Mark could see these in other sattelite channels on real time basis. the patch is clearly visible.
Mohan Bhai has advised telephonically that as at now ie:8.15 am the sky at the site is almost covered.& by evening the the clouds will get thicker & thicker making way for the onset of Rains .
